Once a Redbird, Always a Redbird!

Note from the Principal's Desk

As we wrap up another incredible school year at North Elementary, I want to take a moment to share just how proud we are of our students, staff, and families. Our students have shown tremendous growth this year—not only academically, but also socially and emotionally. Their hard work, perseverance, and positive attitudes have truly shined throughout the year.

We are excited to celebrate the academic growth our students have made in math. At the beginning of the year, 13% of our students were performing on grade level in math, with 46% performing one grade level below. As we close out the year, 48% of our students are now performing on or above grade level, and 33% are just one grade level below. This growth is a direct reflection of the dedication of our students, staff, and families working together to support learning each day. Our reading scores are still being finalized, but we are already seeing tremendous progress there as well.

We are also proud of the growth we have made toward our school goal of creating a strong Culture of Belonging. Throughout the year, discipline referrals consistently decreased each month compared to last year, and our student surveys continue to show that students feel safe, supported, and treated kindly at school. Creating an environment where students feel valued and connected is something we will always continue to prioritize.

Thank you for your continued partnership, support, and encouragement throughout the school year. We hope all of our Redbird families have a safe, relaxing, and fun-filled summer!

Reminder: The last day of school is Thursday, May 21st, and students will dismiss early at 12:25 PM.

Redbird Role Models -

This month, we are focusing on patience—the ability to stay calm, keep trying, and show understanding, even when things are challenging or don’t happen right away. At school, patience looks like waiting your turn, listening to others, and not giving up when learning feels tough. We will be encouraging students to practice patience with their classmates, their work, and themselves as we finish the school year strong!

Congratulations Volleyball Team
Congratulations to one of our North 4th/5th grade volleyball teams for bringing home 1st place in the district tournament! Our students showed outstanding teamwork, sportsmanship, and determination as they competed against teams from East, West, and North. We are so proud of the way they represented North Elementary both on and off the court. Great job, Redbirds!
